Five Fast Facts
Hi! I’m Devin, a wedding and portrait photographer in Greenville, South Carolina. For as long as I can remember, photos have been my favorite gift to give and my favorite decoration. Capturing memories with friends and family has always been extremely important to me. After college, I started taking photography classes because I wanted better pictures of my vacations and family. As soon as I started working with families and couples, I knew this was what I was meant to do.
I moved to Greenville in 2012 after growing up in northern Illinois. While I miss omnipresent cheddar cheese, good pizza, and Mrs. Fischer’s Potato Chips, I do not miss brutal winters or endlessly flat soybean fields (though some soybean fields are legit gorgeous!) From the first time I walked down Main Street in Greenville, this delightful city felt like home. When I saw the mountains just outside of Greenville, I knew for sure I was in the right place!
I met my husband, Steve, when we were Freshmen at Illinois Wesleyan University. He was a quiet math and computer science major and I miiiiiight have pretended to need more help than I did in Calc 101 so we could spend time together. He eventually fell for my charm and sunny disposition and has been right by my side ever since. He is kind, supportive, and tells the best (worst) jokes I’ve ever heard.
A Few Things About Me
I’m kind of (definitely) a crazy dog lady. Steve and I have two goofy mutts, Baloo and Bear. I call them my sons and am a little bit obsessed with them.
I’m never not planning a trip somewhere. I studied in Nantes, France, for a semester in college, and have loved traveling ever since. I’m definitely not a “relax on the beach” sort of traveller; I want to see and experience everything! Bonus points if there are mountains - I looooove hiking!
I have a bit of a thrill seeking side. Skydiving is amazing!
I have a deep deep love for Harry Potter. I read the first few books when I was in 4th grade, and I really grew up with Harry, as the books were released when I was in middle and high school. Steve and I went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando on our first wedding anniversary and I audibly gasped when we first stepped into Diagon Alley. I also, allegedly, waited in a virtual queue for tickets to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for 6 hours when they were released, then planned a trip to London around the play.
I recently realized that I’m an old lady trapped in a millenial body. I’m an avid reader and love spending Friday nights on the couch with a book. One of my best friends recently described me as a hermit, but one that likes adventure. I love knitting - no idea where that came from - and I recently got super into gardening. Most spring weekends you can find me in the front yard working in my flower beds.
